John 14:20
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. (WEB) In yesterday's blog, I talked about how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have all decided to make their home in our hearts. In today's blog, I am sharing yet another Scripture that speaks of our glorious union with the Godhead. Jesus tells His disciples that on that day (the day the Spirit is poured out), you will know that I (Jesus) am in my Father and that you are in Me and I am in you. What an amazing thought! If Jesus and the Father are one, and we are one with Jesus, that makes us one with our Father too! Because we are 'in Christ', we are caught up in the very union within the Godhead. We are not separated and left on our own to try to figure out how life is supposed to work. Our spirits are united with our Elder Brother who has promised to never leave us or forsake us. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus told His disciples that He would be with them even unto the ends of the earth. My prayer today is that each one of us would receive a deeper revelation of what it means to be united with Jesus who is united with His Father. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. Though it may be beyond our natural minds to grasp, may the Spirit of God that lives within us make this a tangible reality for each one of us. Ephesians 2:4-10 4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
