DECEMBER 31
THE GREAT COMMISSION
Matthew 28:18-20
18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (WEB)
As we wrap up this year, may we look to the New Year with excitement and anticipation of all that God will do in our lives. I can't think of a better Bible passage to end the year with, than the Great Commission. No matter who we are or where we live, Jesus commands us to 'go' into all the world.
Your world may be your family, your friends, your workplace or it may indeed be the uttermost parts of the earth. Wherever you 'go' this coming year, may you go knowing that Jesus has promised to go with you. For He will never leave you or forsake you in all that you do.
My prayer today is that you would be comforted with these words. That you would be encouraged with these words. That you would take these words to heart and know that Jesus Himself will empower you through the Holy Spirit to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you could ever hope for or imagine in this coming year. May you have a blessed New Year celebration wherever you go...
John 20:21
Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” (WEB)
