HE WILL KEEP YOU FROM STUMBLING
Jude 1:24-25
Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (WEB)
I am thankful that it is God Himself that is able to keep us from stumbling. Our salvation began in our Father's heart before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1) and it will culminate on that day when we all see Jesus face to face. And every day in between, the precious Holy Spirit that lives within us will give us all the power we need to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3).
May the simple truth of today's Scripture reading penetrate deep within your heart. He that began a good work in you will continue to perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). You are God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), not the product of your own self-effort. May every strand of legalism and striving be consumed in the power of God's ability to keep you today and forever.
My prayer is that we would all know that we are not left to our own devices as we walk out our Christian life. Our Heavenly Father has given us His own Spirit as a deposit to guarantee our inheritance (2 Corinthians 1:22). His Spirit is our Helper, our Counselor and the One who will lead us into all truth. All we have to do is simply follow Him wherever He goes (Romans 8:14).
One day, we will all stand before God and see just how much we were carried during this life (Isaiah 46:3-4). We will know then without a shadow of a doubt that it is by grace that we are saved through faith, which is the greatest gift our Heavenly Father could ever have given us. Until that moment, my prayer is that we would realize that Father, Son & Holy Spirit are all working in tandem to present us faultless with great joy on that glorious day.
Isaiah 46:3-4
3 “Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; 4 and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver. (WEB)
