FOR THE FATHER SO LOVED THE WORLD...
John 3:14-17
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. In this beloved Scripture passage from the gospel of John, we read the words that Jesus Himself spoke about His Father's love. It was the Father's love for humanity that was the very reason for the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
It was the Father Himself who sent Jesus into the world to save it, not to judge it. Due to broken images of fathers in our society, many of us see Father God as an angry judge just waiting to pour out His wrath on humanity. But that isn't true.
This Bible passage clearly shows that it was the Father's plan to send His only begotten Son into the world so that we could be fully reconciled to God. May the truth of this Scripture become clearer today than it ever has before. The eternal plan of salvation was conceived in the heart of a loving Father and was fulfilled by a loving Son who came solely to do His Father's will.
1 John 4:9-10
9 By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. (WEB)
