PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love. (WEB)
In Romans 8:15, the Apostle Paul tells us that God has not given us a spirit that makes us slaves to fear, but He has given us His own Spirit of sonship that calls out 'Abba Father.' This means that there is no fear in love at all. In fact, fear and love cannot exist together. Wherever you find love, fear must be driven out!
If you are struggling with fear in your life, don't focus on the problem; instead, focus on the solution. The way to overcome fear is to ask God to reveal a deeper understanding of His love in your heart. The more we realize Almighty God loves us, the less fear will become an issue. As Paul said in Romans 8:35-39...
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
