DON'T GIVE UP
Galatians 6:9-10
9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith. (WEB)
If Paul wrote this encouragement to the Galatians in his letter, they must have felt a bit weary in their Christian walk. The fact that he told them not to grow tired of doing good indicates that they might have been growing tired of doing good.
If you are reading today's blog and are feeling a little tired, my encouragement to you (and me) is... don't give up! A reward awaits us at the end of our race and maybe just around the corner. When a sower sows seed in a farmer's field, they do so in faith. In times of sowing, there is no indication of a harvest. As sure as the sun rises and sets, a harvest is coming, though!
Today, I pray that we will all have the patience and perseverance to fulfill Papa's plans and purposes for our lives. If you are called to sow seed, keep sowing! If you are called to water the seed, keep watering! God gives the increase; if we don't give up, we will see a harvest at the proper time. May God's love and the Holy Spirit's comfort bring strength to all our weary hearts today.
Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.
