GOD'S LOVE REVEALED TO US
1 John 4:7-9
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. 8 He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. 9 By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (WEB)
The greatest expression of the Father's love to us was and will forever be the gift of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. If we ever doubt our value to God, all we have to do is look at what He was willing to pay for us to come home. The once-and-for-all sacrifice of the Lamb of God is the defining moment in all eternity where God proved His love for the world.
In today's Scripture passage, the Apostle John encourages us to prioritize the love of God in everything we do and are. Because at the end of the day, it will be the love of God that defines us. If we don't live in love, we truly do not know God, for God Himself is love.
My prayer today is that we all have a deeper understanding of the love God has for each of us. I pray that His love fills us so completely that it overflows to those around us. May this be the fulfillment of the prayer Jesus prayed in John 17:23.
I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me. (WEB)
