IF TWO AGREE IN PRAYER
Matthew 18:19-20
19 Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.” (WEB)
This is a remarkable image of the Trinity at work within God's family. Jesus tells us that when two or three of us come together in agreement, He is present among us. When we ask our Father for anything in unity, it will be granted.
May each of us be mindful of Jesus's presence when we gather in His name. May faith grow in our hearts today to trust that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and loves to answer when we come together in agreement. May we all be encouraged to ask, seek, and knock as Jesus instructed in Matthew 7:7-11, with full confidence that our Heavenly Father is a truly good Dad who delights in giving good gifts to His children.
Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
