EVERYTHING DONE IN LOVE
1 Corinthians 16:14
Let all that you do be done in love. (WEB)
Today's Bible verse is very straightforward. Let all that you do be done in love. It doesn't say 'Let 50% of the things you do be done in love'; it says ALL. And from what I understand, the word 'all' means all! It sounds like a tall order to do everything in love. That might feel like a lot of pressure, doesn't it? After all, we aren't perfect. While we will all sometimes miss the mark, this verse reminds us of what truly matters.
I have never heard anybody on their deathbed regretting that they should have spent more time at the office. Usually, when we are at the end of our lives, the really important things become very clear. It boils down to who we loved and who loved us.
The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:1 to 'follow after love' (WEB); the Amplified Bible translates it this way... EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; (AMP) While we may often miss the mark, my prayer is that we all understand that this is what our Heavenly Father desires.
The more we prioritize our lives so that 'love' is what we focus on, the more we will be shaped into the image of the Son who, in turn, is the exact representation of Love itself (Hebrews 1:3).
1 John 4:16
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. (WEB)
