YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE
1 Corinthians 7:23
You were bought with a price. Don’t become bondservants of men. (WEB)
Your Heavenly Father paid the highest price He could when He bought you. He gladly gave His own Son's life so that you could become part of His wonderful family. But let today's Scripture verse remind you that you do not belong to yourself.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says that we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. And since we now belong to God, let us not become enslaved to people. Galatians 5:1 says that it is for freedom's sake that Christ has set us free. Because our Father so wants His kids to be free, He rescued us from the enslavement of sin and death through Jesus' death on a cross.
May the Spirit of God grant us a fresh revelation of the indescribable cost our Father paid for our freedom. Since He has already paid the highest price, let us truly live free and avoid being trapped in unhealthy horizontal relationships. We are called to be His sons and daughters, not to please men.
May we all come to a deeper understanding of the personal freedom Christ has secured for us. May we realize that we cannot belong to God and be governed by the whims of broken people at the same time. May you experience true freedom today from every trap that seeks to keep you enslaved, knowing you were bought at an infinitely high price.
