GOD WILL NOT FAIL YOU
Deuteronomy 4:30-31
30 When you are in oppression, and all these things have come on you, in the latter days you shall return to Yahweh your God, and listen to his voice: 31 for Yahweh your God is a merciful God; he will not fail you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them. (WEB)
Our God and Father is faithful beyond whatever we could possibly imagine! In today's Scripture reading, God is speaking to the fickle Israelites when He tells them that no matter how far they stray from Him, He will remain faithful and merciful to them.
While He chooses to forget our sin (Hebrews 8:12), He always remembers the covenant that He made to His people in times past, for He is a kind and loving God and all of His promises are yes and amen in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). In Romans 11:29 the Apostle Paul tells us that God's gifts and His callings are irrevocable! That means that whatever He has purposed in His heart to give to us, He will give to us whether we believe that He changed His mind or not.
My prayer today is that we would all remember the promises that He has made to us in the past. May our hearts be filled with faith knowing that our Father is a merciful God who will never leave us or fail us. He is a good Father who has remembered every promise that He has made.
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. (WEB)
