GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS SON
Hebrews 1:1-2
1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. (WEB)
In the Old Testament, God communicated with His people through prophets, judges, kings, and shepherd boys. Throughout history, He has been calling humanity back to their divine purpose—being reconciled to the Father and gaining the power to become His children (John 1:12-13).
All that was spoken during those days pointed to the day when God would become flesh and blood and once again call humanity back to Himself through His only begotten Son.
Jesus was the perfect representation of His Father on earth. He embodied His Father's interests in every way and served as the voice calling us back to a relationship with God as His beloved children. In John 14:6, Jesus tells His disciples... “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. (WEB)
There was no greater way for the Father to communicate with us than through His beloved Son. There was no other means for humanity to be reconciled to God and born of the Spirit than through the death, burial, and resurrection of His beloved Son. Jesus IS the only way for each of us to be restored to everything that was lost in the garden.
My prayer today is that all humanity might truly understand the good news of the gospel for what it is. A Father who loved the world so much that He sent His Son to be His voice and the way for all of us to come home again.
John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. (WEB)
