THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE YES!
2 Corinthians 1:19-20
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.” For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen,” to the glory of God through us. (WEB)
One of the websites (365promises.com) we host features a paraphrased Bible promise for each day of the year. When I first started researching this new site back in 2007, I was dealing with some issues of fear in my own life. I believe the timing of my research into God's promises during a season when I was personally struggling with many fearful thoughts was guided by God.
Although I often struggled to reconcile my feelings with the promises I discovered, I kept going for a full year of research. Time doesn’t allow me to share how the Lord freed me from this fear here, but needless to say, He did! What I learned from that experience is that our Father's promises are true, whether my circumstances agree with them or not.
In today's Scripture reading, the Apostle Paul reminds us that all of our Father's promises are 'yes and amen' in Jesus Christ. Every promise that God has ever made has been fulfilled in His Son. Because we are in Jesus, we are heirs to every promise made to Him.
My prayer today is that faith would rise in our hearts to shout 'Yes and Amen!' to every promise of God, whether our circumstances align or not... Whether our feelings agree or not... For our God and Father always keeps His promises.
Galatians 4:6-7
And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (WEB)
