THE FATHER OF LIGHTS
James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. (WEB)
Our Heavenly Father is the source of every good and perfect gift we receive. When He opens His hand, He provides for all that He has created. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:25-34 that we don't need to worry about anything in our lives because our Father knows what we need before we even ask.
My prayer today is that each of us would recognize that God is truly the source of our life. May we look to Him for all our needs today rather than relying on our own ability to manage life. Jesus taught us to pray to our Father with the words "Give us this day our daily bread." So, when we do this, may our hearts be filled with hope that He will answer us! After all, He is good, and He delights in giving good gifts to His children.
Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
