AUGUST 16
JESUS WILL CONFESS YOUR NAME
Revelation 3:5
He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (WEB)
On that great and glorious day, our elder brother Jesus Christ will confess the name of everyone who has trusted in Him to all of heaven. Think about that for a moment. How will you feel? Imagine the heavenly host watching as Jesus calls your name to Father God.
I have no idea what that might look like, but it's fun to close my eyes and try to picture it. Will Jesus hold my hand, lead me to the Father's throne, and say, "Father, I would like to present your beloved son, Barry, to you?"
However it happens, what will heaven's response be to such a public display of affection? Will all the angels erupt in applause? Will we run into our Father's arms so He can wipe away all our tears? I love to imagine what that might look like.
All I can say is that I can't wait to see how my brother will confess my name to our heavenly Father. May we all be filled with hope and wonder as we anticipate that great and glorious day.
Jude 1:24-25
Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (WEB)
