SEPTEMBER 7
IN THE SON IS LIFE
1 John 5:11-13
11 The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. While we will indeed live forever, eternal life does not mean an endless period of time. It signifies a person. Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, is life itself. When we are connected to Jesus, we share in His life, which lasts forever!
We cannot rely on our own effort to generate, sustain, or earn life. That's why religion fails. No matter how much we try or perform, it won't achieve what Jesus freely accomplished for us. God's part is to believe in Jesus (John 6:29), and Jesus takes care of the rest.
My prayer today is that we would perceive more deeply the finished work of our Elder Brother. There is nothing we can do except believe, trust, cling to, and rely on our Lord and Savior. For in Him is life, and His heart for us is to live an abundant, whole, and overflowing life here on earth and in eternity. ...Simply because we are joined to Him!

The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. (WEB)
