HE WILL PROTECT YOU
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one. (WEB)
Good parents protect their children without needing to be forced or coerced, because it comes naturally to them. It's something that God has placed in their hearts and is an integral part of being a loving mother or father.
In Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus explains that God's desire to give to His children far surpasses that of an earthly father. If God takes joy in giving good gifts to His kids, HOW MUCH GREATER is His desire to also protect His children?
No doubt, trouble will come because we live in a fallen world. But amid the trouble, our God and Father promises to protect us from the evil one. The psalmist describes Him as an ever-present help in our time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Today, I pray that we all find reassurance that our heavenly Dad is truly faithful and keeps His promises. Even when disappointments come and we feel tempted to doubt His promise to protect us, may God grant us the grace to declare that He is our Protector and fortress, whom we can trust.
Psalm 27:1
Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? (WEB)
