THE LEGACY OF THE RIGHTEOUS
Psalm 37:29-31
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever. 30 The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice. 31 The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide. (WEB)
What a wonderful promise for the righteous! They will ultimately inherit the land and live in it forever! Our fallen world often presents many challenges. The principles of the kingdom of God are not how the spirit of the world operates. Our broken world system is often in direct opposition to the purposes of our God and Father.
If we focus on the temporal, we may become discouraged. However, if we can focus on the eternal, we can be comforted in knowing that, at the end of all things, those who have been made righteous by Jesus Christ will inherit the land.
Today, I pray that the Holy Spirit will give us the grace to see past our present circumstances and change our gaze to the eternal. The book of James says that life is but a vapor. Even one hundred years is like the blink of an eye compared to eternity. So, no matter what you are going through today, know it will not endure. Your destiny is to inherit the land and live in it forever!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; 18 while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (WEB)
