CHRIST BEING FORMED IN YOU
Galatians 4:19
My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you-- (WEB)
I love the tenderness with which the Apostle shares today's Bible reading with the Galatians church... With a mother's heart toward them, he speaks of his travail in childbirth on their behalf until Christ is formed in them. I appreciate how the Amplified Bible translates Galatians 4:19... My little children, for whom I am again suffering birth pangs until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you, (AMP)
We are all in the process of having Christ fully and permanently shaped within us. We are being transformed daily into the image of God's beloved Son. In Romans 8:29, Paul writes... For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (WEB)
In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul describes this process as transforming from glory to glory. Every day is a new opportunity for us to be changed from one degree of glory into another. Lamentations 3:23 tells us that God's tender mercies are new every morning, so each day offers us another chance to be shaped into the image of the firstborn.
Whether we realize it or not, we are all in the process of Christ being formed in us. So be courageous and trust that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). You are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), not your own.
It doesn't matter how fast or slow the process is. We are all heading in the same direction, and someday, we will all be like Jesus when we see Him face to face. My prayer today is that we will all find joy in the journey.
1 John 3:1-2
1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. (WEB)
