MY FATHER AND YOUR FATHER
John 20:17
Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (WEB)
The first resurrection message Jesus declared is found in His encounter with Mary in the garden after He had just risen from the dead. This message encapsulates the entire New Testament mission and why Jesus came to Earth two thousand years ago.
Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so His Father could become our Father! On this glorious Easter Sunday, I encourage you to keep the main thing the main thing! Jesus paid the highest price so that you could call Almighty God your real Abba! Father!
I pray that the reality of our new birth into our Father's Kingdom will become more real today than ever. Jesus' Father is now our Father, and His God is now our God! Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Ephesians 2:4-9
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast.
