VARIOUS GIFTS BUT THE SAME SPIRIT
1 Corinthians 12:4-7
There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. (WEB)
In yesterday's blog, I wrote about how the body has many members, yet it is the summation of each member. In today's blog, I want to continue the same thought. Instead of using the analogy of a body, I want to talk about the beautiful tapestry of giftings that contribute to the corporate expression of Christ on earth.
In order to tell you about his beautiful tapestry, I want to talk about our Dad first. Our Father is the ultimate Creator. He has never created anything twice. Every snowflake, every blade of grass, every strand of DNA is completely unique. And each one displays His glory in a way that nothing else can. Though each flower is different, together with every other unique flower in a field, they display a breathtaking meadow.
The same concept applies to each one of us. Instead of trying to be like each other, may we see that our diversity actually helps to complete a beautiful mosaic of the image of Christ. My prayer is that today we would be free from comparing ourselves with others and simply yield to the unique destiny that our Father has for us.
We all have been given a manifestation of the Spirit that will be a blessing to everyone else. May you find new freedom to simply be the person God created you to be, so that you can help complete the beautiful portrait of the Body of Christ that your life helps to paint.
Genesis 1:27
God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. (WEB)
