THE GLORY OF GOD
John 17:24
Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. (WEB)
Jesus desires for us to be with Him where He lives so that we may see His glory. Where does Jesus live? Many Biblical references tell us that He is seated at His Father's right hand. But John 1:18 provides a more intimate description of Jesus' place alongside His Heavenly Father.
The KJV & WEB versions of the Bible say that Jesus came from the bosom of His Father... No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him. (WEB) Since we are in Christ, we, too, get to be where Jesus lives, which is in His Father's bosom. It is in this place of complete love and security that we will know He has loved us even before the foundation of the world.
My prayer today is that we would know that the glory of the Father's love is that He has always loved us. Before He created the world, He loved us. Jeremiah 31:3 says that God loves us with an everlasting love. This is a love that knows no beginning and no end.
Since this is not an earthly love, we cannot experience it apart from the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our hearts (Romans 5:5). May we all receive a deeper infilling of the everlasting, limitless love of God today that Jesus enjoys in the bosom of His Father.
The room (mansion or home) that Jesus referred to in John 14:1-3 is a unique place in the bosom of our Dad that is reserved for each of us. We all know that we have full access to this place in the heart of our Father anytime, day or night.
John 14:1-3
“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. (WEB)
