JESUS AND HIS FATHER ARE ONE
John 10:30
I and the Father are one. (WEB)
Such a powerful statement in just six words. Jesus said that if you have seen Him, you have seen His Father (John 14:7-12). Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus was the exact representation of His Father. Everything that Jesus did was a mirror image of God. Every act of compassion, every miracle... flowed from His Father's heart.
If you struggle to relate to God as Father because of your own earthly father disappointments, my encouragement to you is to ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the Father's heart in all that Jesus does and is. The most amazing thing about the Trinity is that they are one, yet three. They live in complete unity of heart in everything that they do.
The Father reveals Jesus to us (John 6:44) and Jesus in turn reveals His Father (John 14:6). The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of the Son (Romans 8:15) as well as the Spirit of the Father (Matthew 10:20). The Apostle John tells us that when we have Jesus, we have His Father too (1 John 2:23). May the powerful revelation of the union in the Godhead help us overcome any 'father issues' that we might have with our Heavenly Dad.
Ephesians 2:17-18
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. (WEB)
