JESUS AND HIS FATHER ARE ONE
John 10:30
I and the Father are one. (WEB)
Such a powerful statement in just six words. Jesus said that if you have seen Him, you have seen His Father (John 14:7-12). Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus was the exact representation of His Father. Everything Jesus did was a mirror image of God. Every act of compassion, every miracle... flowed from His Father's heart.
If you find it hard to relate to God as Father because of disappointments with your earthly father, my encouragement is to ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the Father's heart in everything Jesus does and is. The most incredible thing about the Trinity is that they are one, yet three. They live in complete unity of heart in all they do.
The Father reveals Jesus to us (John 6:44), and Jesus, in turn, reveals His Father (John 14:6). The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of the Son (Romans 8:15) as well as the Spirit of the Father (Matthew 10:20). The Apostle John tells us that when we have Jesus, we also have His Father (1 John 2:23). May the powerful revelation of the unity in the Godhead help us overcome any 'father issues' we might have with our Heavenly Dad.
Ephesians 2:17-18
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. (WEB)
