COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD
Psalm 37:5-6
5 Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: 6 he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. (WEB)
When we commit our way to God, we practically demonstrate that we trust Him. When we do not try and control everything around us but release our lives into His hands, it touches His heart like nothing else we can do. To live a trusting life on this side of heaven is to communicate to our Father that we believe He is good as we gladly surrender the outcome of our lives into His gracious hands.
Like any good earthly father, I believe that our Heavenly Father responds to our childlike dependence on Him by doing more for us than we could ever hope for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). His Father's heart is for us (Romans 8:31). He will make His righteousness go forth on our behalf and shine brightly like the sun.
Today, I pray that we will all have the grace and trust in God to commit our lives to Him. May we all let go of controlling our lives so that we can truly be led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14) and not try to lead ourselves. The more we surrender to our Father's loving care, the more we can bless His heart by truly demonstrating that we trust Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (WEB)
