AUGUST 14
THE GOD OF HOPE WILL FILL YOU
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. (WEB)
Ephesians 5:18 says... Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, (WEB). The infilling described in this verse means 'to be continually filled' with the Spirit of God. With this in mind, consider the implications of today's Scripture Reading.
Paul's prayer is that the God of hope will continually fill you with all joy and peace as you believe. The result of ongoing giving from God's side and receiving on our side will be a life overflowing with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
My prayer today is that we don't try to create circumstances around us that artificially produce a sense of joy and peace in our lives. I pray that we will go directly to the source of all joy and peace and receive a fresh download straight from Him.
We all understand we are not meant to live on yesterday's manna. He wants us to cry out today... "Give us this day our daily bread!" May we all find comfort in knowing that our Father is a good Dad who gives His children good gifts (Matthew 7:7-11). May each of us be filled with a renewed sense of joy and peace as we trust that the God of hope desires to fill us again and again with His presence.
Romans 14:17
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. (WEB)
