AUGUST 14
THE GOD OF HOPE WILL FILL YOU
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. (WEB)
Ephesians 5:18 says... Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, (WEB). The infilling described in this verse means 'to be continually filled' with the Spirit of God. With this in mind, think of the implications of today's Scripture Reading.
Paul's prayer is that the God of hope will continually fill you with all joy and peace as you believe. The end result of a continual outpouring from God's end and an infilling on our end will be a life abounding in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.
My prayer today is that we would not try to create circumstances around us that artificially create a sense of joy and peace in our lives. I pray that we will go straight to the source of all joy and peace and receive a fresh download directly from Him.
We all know we were not created to live on yesterday's manna. He wants us to cry out today... "Give us this day our daily bread!" May we all be comforted knowing that our Father is a good Dad who gives His kids good gifts (Matthew 7:7-11). May each of us be filled with a renewed sense of joy and peace as we believe that the God of hope wants to fill us again and again with His presence.
Romans 14:17
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. (WEB)
