MARCH 10
AS HIGH AS THE HEAVENS ARE ABOVE THE EARTH
Psalm 103:10-12
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. (WEB)
In today's Scripture passage, King David provides a descriptive account of God's goodness. He starts by reminding us that God has not dealt with us as our sins deserve. Aren't you glad that you are not getting what you deserve from God? I know that I am! David then tells us that God has removed our sins from us as far as the East is from the West. According to my calculations, that is infinitely apart!
David says that God's love for us is so great that it is impossible to measure. He says it is as great as the distance between the heavens and the earth. In David's time, no Hubble Telescope could capture images from millions upon millions of miles away, but something in David's heart understood that God's love was unfathomable.
My prayer today is that you would know in greater measure today than yesterday how true David's declaration is. God does not see your sin. Because of Christ's cross, He has removed your sin completely and eternally from you. Hebrews 8:12 says that He chooses not to remember our sins anymore!
I pray that you will know that God's tender mercies for you are new every morning, and His love for you is infinitely higher than anything you will ever comprehend with your human understanding. May God give each of us the power to grasp the immeasurable expanse of His amazing love today!
Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (WEB)
