MARCH 20
FREE FROM THE LAW
Galatians 3:24-26
24 So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. (WEB)
The purpose of the law is to show us that we cannot fulfill it apart from what Jesus did on the cross. The law is perfect, but we cannot meet its requirements through human efforts. What we could not do, Jesus did on our behalf.
Now that faith has come, we no longer need to be tutored by the law. We are now born of God and are new creations in Christ! We have the Spirit of God dwelling in our bodies, and God Himself has declared us righteous! Not for any good works we have done but simply because we have believed in His beloved Son.
My prayer today is that each of us would know that the purpose of the law was to point us to Jesus. When we were born again, we became free from the law and free to live our lives as sons and daughters of the Most High God. May we all experience a deeper revelation of freedom today, knowing that we are free from the law because our Elder Brother has set us free!
Ephesians 2:4-9
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast.
