Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (WEB) The are a lot of things in this life that will try to separate us from the love of God. In today's Scripture reading, Paul the Apostle lists quite a few of those things...oppression, anguish, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and even the sword. But he goes on to say that we are MORE than conquerors through Him who loved us! It should be no surprise to any of us that we will all experience things in this fallen world that will try and separate us from the love that God has for us. The consequences of a fallen humanity are all around us, yet in the midst of all these things, one thing is constant. God loves us with an everlasting love and nothing will ever change that. May the revelation of the everlasting, unconditional love of the Father, that has been given to us in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ, become the central focus of our life today. Death can't separate us, life can't, angels can't, principalities can't... nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love that God has for us TODAY! Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
