Psalm 37:1-3
1 Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 3 Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. (WEB) If we want to see the consequences of evildoers in our society, all we have to do is turn on the news. Wars, rumors of wars, greed, pain, and suffering are all around us. Jesus told us that in this world, we would have trouble, but we could be comforted knowing that He has overcome the world! In today's Bible passage, King David encourages us not to be worried about those around us who practice unrighteousness. God wants us to take our eyes off of the evil surrounding us and simply trust in Him and do good wherever we go. As we focus on God and His goodness, His promise is that we will dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. May each one of us experience His tangible peace today in every aspect of life. May we know that our Elder Brother is the Prince of Peace and as we trust in Him and do good, He promises us safe pasture. Psalm 23 1 Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever. (WEB) Comments are closed.
