Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all. (WEB) Paul's pronouncement in today's Bible reading speaks of the incredible union within the Godhead. Father, Son and Holy Spirit all moving in complete step with one another in all that they do. There is nothing that divides their focus, for they are one, yet expressed in three persons... three persons yet they are completely one. We live in a fallen world that seeks to worship many things and wants to create many idols. All of which are false and doomed to disappoint their worshipers. The truth is that there is one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all! My prayer today is that we would all have an awakening in our spirits to this powerful truth. There is one Spirit, one Lord and one God and Father of us all. The Apostle Paul told the Greek philosophers on Mars Hill the following words in Acts 17:28... ‘For in him we live, and move, and have our being.’ (WEB) The universe does not contain God, but God contains the universe in His being. May we all see with new eyes today the majesty of God and the unity of His purpose for each one of us. Colossians 1:16-17 16 For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.
