John 5:36 But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John, for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me. (WEB) In John 5:17 Jesus told us that His Father was at work so that He too was working. In a tandem of love, both Father and Son were working hand in hand to accomplish the divine plan that they had set out to fulfill before the creation of the world. In today's Scripture passage, Jesus tells us that the works that He did bore witness that His Father had sent Him into the world. Everything that Jesus did was an exact expression of His Father's heart. Since Jesus lives in us, we too are called to do the works that have originated in our heavenly Father's heart as well. May we all be reminded today that we are not working on our own. Jesus told us in the Great Commission that He would be with us always, even unto the ends of the earth. My prayer today is that we would not feel discouraged or alone in the work that God has called us to do. For Father, Son & Holy Spirit are at work in our hearts, directing us to do the work that we have been created to do. Philippians 2:12-13 12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.
