John 17:6-8
6 I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you, 8 for the words which you have given me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew for sure that I came forth from you, and they have believed that you sent me. (WEB) May the words that Jesus spoke in His High Priestly prayer to His Father resonate in our hearts. Everything that Jesus revealed to His disciples came directly from His Father. Every word, every embrace, every healing, and even the work of the cross, originated in the heart of the Father. Now, as Jesus was preparing His disciples and preparing His own heart for what was yet to come in the week leading up to the cross, Jesus was glad that His friends received the words that He gave them from His Father. It was important to Jesus that those closest to Him believed that He came from the Father and was sent by His Father. My prayer today is that we would all hear in these words the cry of a good Son whose only desire was to honor His Father. Because Jesus loved His Dad so much, He gladly gave up His life as a sacrifice so that we could be reconciled to the One who created us in the first place. Jesus' mission two thousand years ago and His mission today is one and the same... to bring a revelation of His Father to our hearts. May we all respond and receive a deeper impartation of His love today. John 14:8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” (WEB) Comments are closed.
