2 Corinthians 1:19-20
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.” For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen,” to the glory of God through us. (WEB) One of the websites (365promises.com) that we host features a paraphrased Bible promise for each day of the year. When I first started doing the research for this new site back in 2007, I was battling some issues of fear in my own life. I think the timing for me to be researching the promises of God during a season where I was personally battling many fearful thoughts was God ordained. Though I often struggled to have my feelings come into agreement with the promises I was uncovering, I persevered for an entire year of research. Time prevents me from writing about how the Lord delivered me from this fear in this blog, but needless to say, He did! What I learned through that process was that our Father's promises are true whether my circumstances agreed with them or not. In today's Scripture reading, the Apostle Paul tells us that all of our Father's promises are 'yes and amen' in Jesus Christ. Every promise that God has ever made has found its fulfillment in His Son. Because we are in Jesus, we are heirs to every promise made to the Son. My prayer today is that faith would rise up in our hearts to cry out 'Yes and Amen!' to every promise of God whether our circumstances line up or not. ...Whether our feelings agree or not. ...For our God and Father keeps His promises. Galatians 4:6-7 And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
