THE ORIGINAL BLESSING

Genesis 1:28
28 God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (WEB)

Because of the ravages of sin and the breakdown of the family system, many of us have felt like we have been cheated out of a father's blessing. But the truth is that we were all created to living under the blessing that comes from God Himself. 

When God created Adam and Eve, He blessed them with fruitfulness, multiplication and dominion. Their creation was the result of a Father's infinite love and His desire to see His family increase. He declared the works of His hand 'very good' after He made them. All of the resources of heaven were behind them as they were charged with the responsibility of being their Father's representative on planet earth. 

In Ephesians 1:3 says... Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ; (WEB). I believe that it is our Father's heart to restore the original blessing to each one of His kids. I believe that through the finished work of Jesus, we now have the same kingdom mandate to be fruitful and multiply, and have dominion on the earth. 

May the reality of our Father's blessing be very tangible in all that we do in life. May we see fruitfulness in barren places, may we see multiplication in every area of our life, and may we learn to walk in the victorious dominion that our elder brother has already secured for us.

Galatians 3:13-14
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (WEB)
