Philippians 2:9-11
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (WEB) The name of Jesus is above every name in heaven and earth. No matter how majestic or powerful a person is, one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This final acknowledgement of Jesus' true royal position in the kingdom will bring glory to His heavenly Father as well. And we get to be there to see it! We get to bow our knee and declare along with the hosts of heaven the majesty of our elder brother, Jesus Christ! What a glorious day that will be! My prayer today is that every person who has called on the name of the Lord would truly know the power that resides in the name of Jesus. In His name, demons flee! In His name, the sick are healed! And the One who has the name that is above every other name, lives in you and me. There is incredible power and authority in the name of Jesus and He has given us permission to use His name in all that we do. Jesus told us that if we ask the Father for anything in His name, that our Father will hear us and answer our prayers. The next time that you pray to our Father and finish your prayer with the words ... in Jesus' name we pray... may you be reminded that we have been given the privilege of speaking the name that is above every other name. John 16:25-27 25 I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
