2 Corinthians 5:18-20
But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (WEB) Our God and Father has given every believer the ministry of reconciliation where we are called to tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ. And the good news is simply this... That God reconciled the world to Himself in Christ. No longer is our Father counting men's sins against them, but through the finished work of His Son, every person now has direct access to the living God in Christ. It was the Father that sent the Son into the world. It was the Father's heart to see mankind restored to their original destiny as His sons and daughters. It was the Son who gladly obeyed His Father and offered up His life as a sacrifice to destroy all that separated us from coming home. My prayer today is that we would know what our true calling is as ministers of reconciliation. We are calling the lost home to the love of their Heavenly Father in Christ. We are inviting them to come to receive God's free gift of redemption found in the Person of Jesus Christ. As His ambassadors, may each one of us carry a deep sense of the heart of our Father towards a broken, lost world. May we reflect His love and desire for reconciliation wherever we go. If our Heavenly Father is no longer counting our sins, may we be free from self judgment and from judgment of others. May we simply have the grace to express this good news to everyone we meet as we are God's image bearers in this dark world. Matthew 28:18-20 18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
