John 6:44-46
44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father. (WEB) It is amazing for me to see how the Trinity is deeply involved in the evangelism process of the human heart. The Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh (Acts 2:17); The Father speaks to each one of us about Jesus (John 6:44-46) and then Jesus brings us to His Father (John 14:6). In today's Scripture reading, I want to focus on how our heavenly Father is the agent of evangelism that actually draws us to Jesus! Jesus said in today's text that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws him. He goes on to say that everyone who hears the Father's voice and learns from Him, comes to Jesus. Now take a minute to think of the impact of this statement. Every person who has ever come to Christ, did so as a direct result of the Father drawing him or her. Our Heavenly Father has not distanced His heart from humanity, but He is closer to us than we could possibly imagine. And He is always speaking. He is always drawing us to Jesus in order for Jesus then to bring us back into our Father's heart. What an amazing Father we have! As the Apostle Paul said in Acts 17:28... ‘For in him we live, and move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’ (WEB) Comments are closed.
