PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE
2 Peter 1:2-4
Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. Today's Scripture reading is packed full of wonderful declarations of who we are. The Apostle Peter starts verse two by declaring that grace and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God (the Father) and our Lord Jesus Christ. My prayer today is that grace and peace would be multiplied in all that you do.
The reason that we can walk in supernatural grace and peace is because we are partakers of the divine nature of God Himself. We are not servants trying to live a godly life, we actually are participants in the divine power that is inherent in the Trinity! I truly believe that we are only scratching the surface in the knowledge (revelation) of God that we have now. The more we know who He is, the more we will know who we are because we are His kids.
May faith rise up in our hearts today to believe every one of our Father's exceedingly great and precious promises that He has for us. May the eyes of our hearts be opened by the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in increasing measure as we continue to be transformed from glory to glory.
For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (WEB)
