MULTIPLIED SEED

2 Corinthians 9:10-11
Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God. (WEB)

The Kingdom of God does not operate the same way as the kingdom of this world. In our Father's Kingdom, the poor are rich, the weak are strong and the foolish are made wise. In His Kingdom, it isn't the person who can store up as much as he can that is considered great, but the poor widow who gives all that she has away.

While the commerce of our world system revolves around buying and selling, the Kingdom of our Elder Brother revolves around sowing and reaping. While buying and selling can generate immediate rewards, sowing and reaping require more patience and faith.

When a farmer plants a seed in the ground, he does not see an immediate reward for his work. He has to trust and believe that there will be a harvest that will result from his labor some time in the future. This principle of sowing and reaping spiritually works the same way. We sow our seed believing that God will multiply it and produce a harvest of righteousness.

My prayer today is that we would all see the seed that God has entrusted to us. Whenever we get a chance to sow our seed into another person's life, whether it be through financial generosity or acts of service, we are making a Kingdom investment. And with every investment, God promises a multiplication of fruitfulness.

May faith rise up in our hearts so that we can have a joyful expectation of the sowing process. We are not wasting our time or our resources when we sow seed. Each seed has the potential to produce thirty, sixty or a hundredfold blessing!

Matthew 13:1-9
1 On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside. 2 Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat, and all the multitude stood on the beach. 3 He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth. 6 When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away. 7 Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Others fell on good soil, and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (WEB)
