1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
11 Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you; 12 and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you, 13 to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. (WEB) I love how the Scriptures often talk about how God the Father and God the Son work together in tandem. In today's passage, Paul says that it is the Father Himself and our the Lord Jesus Christ that were directing Paul's way to the Thessalonian church. The Trinity is always moving in step with each other in all that They corporately do. Paul goes on to pray that the Lord will make the Thessalonians (and us) increase and abound in love one toward another. Not only to each other, but toward all men! There is nothing that pleases the heart of a father more than when his children get along. I believe it is more so for God Himself for He not only loves, but He is called Love itself in 1 John 4:16. I echo Paul's prayer for my life and for your life today... May the Lord Jesus Himself and God the Father make our love abound towards each other and towards all people! May we grow in the knowledge of His love today and learn to be on the receiving end of His love to that it would spill out of us to every one we meet. Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
