JESUS SPOKE ABOUT HIS FATHER

John 8:25-27
25 They said therefore to him, “Who are you?”Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.” 27 They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father. (WEB)

Everything that Jesus did in His public ministry revealed the heart of His Father. Though He was clear about who sent Him, the religious leaders of the day simply could not understand the heart connection that Jesus had with His Dad.

It is interesting to note that I cannot remember a time in the New Testament where this was an issue for the tax collectors and the sinners. Whether they had a theological paradigm to understand the implications of Jesus being the Son of God or not, it didn't seem important to them. They were simply drawn to Him in droves.

I don't think things have changed too much today from when Jesus walked the earth in human form. There are still many people who miss the heart connection between Father and Son in their efforts to dot every religious 'i' and cross every 't'. If we miss the amazing love that exists within the Trinity for one another, we will miss the very point of the gospel. It is all about a family and a Father who sent His Son as His exact image to show us what He is really like.

My prayer today is that we would all know that our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ is the expressed image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). Everything that Jesus is and does is an exact representation of His Father's being (Hebrews 1:3). May this truth help those who struggle relating to God as Father because of unhealed father wounds.

May the truth that Jesus is just like His Dad help us all to better relate to our heavenly Papa. He is not like any earthly father that we have known.  If we want to know what our heavenly Father is like, all we have to do is look in the eyes of Jesus and we will see Him.

8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
