JESUS CAME TO DO HIS FATHER'S WILL

John 6:38-40
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. 39 This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day. 40 This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (WEB)

In today's Scripture reading, Jesus clearly tells us why He came to earth, Who sent Him, and the purpose of His coming. There is absolutely no question as to what Jesus' mission was and who was the architect of this plan. It was His beloved Father who sent Him into the world. It was His beloved Father that desired that not one would perish. It was the eternal plan of His Father that whoever would believe in Him would have eternal life.

Our Father is not willing that even one would miss out on His love . The cry of His heart is that every person on the planet would believe in His Son, Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of eternal life that was planned before the creation of the world.

In obedience to His Father, everything that Jesus did on earth was an exact representation of His Father's heart (John 14:9-11). He came to do His Father's will and through His own death on the cross, Jesus provided the way for us to come back home to our heavenly Dad (John 14:6). May the reality of the Fatherheart of God become more real to each one of us today than ever before. It was the Father's plan to send His Son into the world so that we all could be reconciled to His loving heart.

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.” 8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
