Hebrews 2:11-12
11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” (WEB) In yesterday's blog, I talked about the two verses just preceding today's reading which spoke of Jesus' mission to bring many children to glory. I continue with the same theme today as the writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is not ashamed to call us His brothers. What an amazing declaration of love and belonging! The King of kings and the Lord of lords is not ashamed to be called our big brother! As you read today's Bible verses, take a moment to try and envision what the writer is describing... Jesus, the Firstborn of many brothers and sisters is worshiping His Father in the midst of His siblings and says "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise". My prayer today is that we would know when we worship God, Jesus Himself is also in our midst boldly declaring His praises too! May we all have eyes to see that this is truly a family event where everyone is involved! And as we sing our praises to our Father, He in turn sings love songs over us (Zephaniah 3:17). When we became born again, we joined the chorus of praise that resides from family members around the world with Jesus Himself declaring His praise in the midst of His brothers and sisters. May we all know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we truly do belong to the best family in the universe. Romans 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (WEB) Comments are closed.
