Jeremiah 30:17
17 For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, It is Zion, whom no man seeks after. (WEB) Our Father's heart has always been for the underdog, the marginalized and the outcast in society. In 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, Paul tells us how God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. He has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the strong and the poor things of the world to shame the rich. It is our Father's heart for those who aren't on the 'top of the food chain' in the world system that He longs to help. When He sees us harassed and helpless, His loving heart is moved with compassion for us. In today's daily reading, God promises to restore health and heal our wounds. No matter how desperate our situation, God promises to never leave us or forsake us. My prayer today is that we would truly know that our Father is close to the brokenhearted and will save those who are crushed in spirit. The gospel is good news for the poor and the broken. I don't know about you, but when I think of God's heart for the foolish, weak and poor, that means I qualify! May each person who needs restoration and healing today have faith to believe that it is our Father's heart to heal and restore. Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. (WEB) Comments are closed.
