Jeremiah 24:6-7
6 For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. 7 I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return to me with their whole heart. (WEB) We can see many glimpses into the heart of God for us as He expressed His desire for the nation of Israel in the Old Testament. Today's Scripture passage is one of those times when God expresses His love for His chosen people. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we now are part of His incredible family and can take to heart the promises that God made to Israel in the Old Testament. I love how today's verses speak of God's desire for good and not evil. How He desires to restore and not destroy. How He wants to build up His people, not pull them down. He is the Gardener who plants us in good soil and does not yank us out. Our Heavenly Father's heart has always been that we would truly know Him. Through the cross of Jesus Christ, His promise that we could have a new heart and be reconciled was made a reality. My prayer today is that we would all know that God's intent for us is good. He loves us and wants to build us up, not tear us down. May the reality of His heart shatter any misconceptions that we have of His goodness today. Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. (WEB) Comments are closed.
