Titus 3:4-7
But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (WEB) There is no greater expression of the Father's love than when Jesus came to earth two thousand years ago and dwelt among us. That is why the Apostle Paul describes Jesus as 'the kindness of God our Savior and his love' as he expressed in this passage of Scripture. Looking at Jesus was just like looking at His Father (John 14:9). He was the expressed image of the invisible God in human form (Colossians 1:15) and everything that Jesus did was a mirror image of Almighty God. As today's Scripture declares, through the work on the cross, we have been saved, washed, regenerated and renewed by the Holy Spirit that has been poured out on us richly. We have been justified by faith through grace and now we are heirs of God for all eternity. I don't know about you, but the reality of the hope that we have is way beyond my ability to grasp it with my human understanding. My prayer today is that the Holy Spirit that lives within us would make the reality of today's Scripture reading more real to us than ever before. May the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation open up the eyes of our heart so that we may truly grasp on a deeper level the vastness of our inheritance in Christ (Ephesians 1:17-18). May we all know today more than ever that we truly have been saved, washed, regenerated, renewed, justified and made heirs of God both now and for all of eternity. Not because we have ever done anything to earn or deserve God's love, but simply because of the finished work of our elder brother, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! Ephesians 1:15-18 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (WEB) Comments are closed.
