Philippians 1:6
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (WEB) You are not the author and finisher of your faith... Jesus is (Hebrews 12:2). What God began when He chose you to be part of His family before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4-5) will be completed when we all see Jesus face to face on that glorious day. And every day between then and now, we have the precious Holy Spirit living in us, helping us, strengthening us and equipping us to live out of the abundance that our Father has given us in His Son (John 10:10). Even when we have times of doubt, God understands and will remain faithful to us because He cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13). My prayer today is that we would all be able to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ that is already present in our lives right now even though there are times when we struggle to believe it ourselves. When our Father looks at us, He sees His beloved Son. Since He knows the end from the beginning, He sees us as we are in Christ and not as we see ourselves apart from Christ. May we all have the strength today to keep running the unique race that is marked out for us. All the while, fixing our eyes on Jesus who is the author and the finisher of our faith. Our Father began this good work in us and it is His faithfulness that will complete it on that glorious day of Jesus Christ. May faith rise up in our hearts today say 'yes and Amen!' to this wonderful promise. Hebrews 12:1-2 1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
