Matthew 1:23
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.” (WEB) As we enter into the final days before Christmas, may we be reminded that Jesus is called "Immanuel" which is interpreted to mean "God with us". His birth two thousand years ago was the moment in time when God Himself chose to dwell among us. Everything that Jesus did demonstrated that God Himself was now "with us". In the hustle and bustle of this busy season, my prayer is simply that we would experience the "Immanuel" of God more this year than we have ever experienced Him before. The Christmas season is one of the most difficult times of the year for those who are struggling financially and in relationships. It is also a time when we miss loved ones that have gone on before us. May the tangible sense of the presence of God embrace each one of us this week, so that we can testify with all our hearts that we are not alone because God Himself is with us. John 14:23 Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him. (WEB) Comments are closed.
