FOR THE FATHER SO LOVED THE WORLD...

John 3:14-17
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. In this much loved Scripture passage from the gospel of John, we read the words that Jesus Himself spoke concerning His Father's love. It was the Father's love for mankind that was the very reason for the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

It was the Father Himself who sent Jesus into the world to save the world... not to judge it. Because of broken father images in our society, many of us view Father God as an angry judge just waiting to pour out His wrath on humanity. But that simply isn't true.

This Bible passage clearly tells us that it was the Father's idea to send His only begotten Son into the world so that we could be fully reconciled to God. May the reality of this Scripture become more clear today than it has ever been. The eternal plan of salvation was born in the heart of a loving Father and was fulfilled by a loving Son who came only to do His Father's will.

1 John 4:9-10
9 By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. (WEB)
