John 17:25-26
25 Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”" (WEB) In today's passage of Scripture, we get an intimate insight into the heart of Jesus. As He prays to His Father, He declares that He has made His Father known to His disciples and He will continue to bring a revelation of His Father even after the cross. Jesus' desire then and now is the same. His heart is to bring a revelation of His Father to all who would believe in Him and trust in His salvation. In coming to know His Father as our Father, we then would be able to experience the same love that Jesus experienced. What an amazing thought this is! The love that God has for us is the same love that He has for His beloved Son! The truth is that God only loves at one level of intensity... and that is with all His heart. My prayer today is that we would all receive a fresh baptism of this love so that we could have power to grasp God's unending affection towards us. Just take a moment and think about this... God loves you as much as He loves Jesus! May this revelation cause us to cry out 'Abba, Father!' from the deepest part of our being today. Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
